TDPS 326 - World Cinema Credit Hours: 4 Frequency of Offering: Offered annually in the spring semester
This course undertakes a survey and analysis of world film production in an effort to understand the relationship between world cinema and national culture. With reference to the U.S. film industry as a dominant model, the course explores the aesthetic, economic, historical, and ideological contexts for film production and reception in other countries.
Course Satisfies: This course may be used to satisfy an elective requirement for the English major. Satisfies requirements for a minor in African and African Diaspora studies, Asian studies, and women, gender, and sexuality studies.
