TDPS 360 - Dance Improvisation and Composition

Credit Hours: 4
This course is designed to provide experiences in synthesizing theory and praxis in the creation of performance studies. Emphasis is on creative expression and the development of specific tools with which to compose, direct, and perform original work. The relationship of improvisation to composition is explored and the current movement towards interdisciplinary performance art is reflected. Students investigate a wide variety of source materials for performance projects.

Prerequisite(s): TDPS 255 or consent of the instructor.
