Marketing is the process of getting goods and services from the producer or provider to the consumer. It is derived from the economic theory of product distribution as applied to business and is thereby a social science as well as a business practice. The course will take the student through the entire process of producing a good or service, determining a reasonable price, getting the good or service to a place where a consumer can purchase it, and promoting the product to make the consumer aware of its existence. It will consider traditional marketing methods appropriate for shopping in person as well as internet marketing.
