ECON 359 - Public Sector Economics Credit Hours: 4 Frequency of Offering: Offered annually in the fall semester
Public sector economics is the study of how government policy, in particular tax and expenditure policy, affects the allocation of resources and the distribution of income. Using the foundations of microeconomic theory, important government activities in the areas of social welfare and social insurance are evaluated in terms of their impact on the welfare of citizens, both individually and collectively.
Prerequisite(s): ECON 102 , ECON 103 , ECON 251 and ECON 252
