HIST 376 - Afro-Latin American History Credit Hours: 4 Latin America and the Caribbean are home to the largest number of people of African descent outside of Africa. This class explores their experience from their forced arrival during the colonial period to their lives as citizens in modern Latin American and Caribbean nations. Using primary and secondary sources, the class will uncover the transnational and diasporic networks they shaped, and their important contributions to the history of the region.
