ART 248 - Introduction to Animation: Stop Motion Credit Hours: 4 This course introduces students to the fundamental issues and techniques of animation through stop-motion, a technique where objects are moved incrementally in a series of still images to create the illusion of movement.
Students will develop their ability to use movement and timing for expressive purposes, through assignments exploring multiple hands-on animation techniques. Lectures, readings, and screenings will introduce students to
the history and principles of animation, and facilitate the exploration of form, method, and content through studio assignments and projects.
Course Satisfies: This course satisfies the Core Exploration requirement in Arts.
